The McAuley Center Gym was originally built in the late 1920’s, and was the first multipurpose gym facility in the state with an indoor swimming pool. This renovation was the 3rd for this building. As part of this renovation, due to its age and resulting condition, the pool was filled and a new weight training room and classroom were put in its place. This renovation also brought air conditioning to gym and now the McAuley Center is one of the few high school gyms in the state with A/C. The project also won a Certificate of Excellence in Construction from the Associated Builders & Contractors.
